The Foremost Explorer Series are hydraulic top drive rigs designed for shallow oil and gas drilling to depths of 6,000 ft (1,800 m). A unique hydraulic pullback and pulldown system delivers hoisting capacities up to 130,000 lbs (58,967 kg) with no mast crown load. The Explorer Series is capable of both vertical and slant drilling.

The Explorer Series also feature a fully automated drill pipe and tubular handling system, designed to eliminate manual handling when making connections or bringing pipe to and from the drill string. Capable of accommodating up to range III casing, the Foremost pipe handler also provides sufficient clamping forces to assist in breaking tool joints.

The Explorer Series is also equipped with a Foremost designed and manufactured hydraulic top drive.

  • Foremost hydraulic top drive which delivers torque up to 20,000 lbs-ft (88,600 Nm) and speeds of up to 210 rpm.
  • Foremost Series 4000 Automated Pipe Handling System, with a maximum rating of 4,000 lbs (1,800 kg) and break-out torque of 10,000 ft-lbs (13,500 Nm).
  • Alco Compact Iron Roughneck and Power Slips.

Foremost Explorer drilling rigs are custom engineered and manufactured to meet specific customer requirements. Several configurations and options are available.
