On Wednesday, August 16th, 2017, representatives from the Manufacturers Health and Safety Association (MHSA) presented Jessica Siebold with an award for Manufacturing Safety Officer (MSO) designation.   The MHSA is the PIR association that Foremost is qualified through for the Certificate of Recognition.  The MHSA  guides and assists companies in building quality safety management systems to reduce overall workplace health and safety hazards and risks that could pose a significant impact on people.

To receive MSO designation is significant in many ways.  In particular it solidifies Jessica’s hard work and dedication to reducing workplace risks by learning and applying that learning in real life situations.  The MSO award proves to the industry that Jessica maintains a good grasp in interpreting and applying health and safety laws in the workplace while balancing the good production, further keeping the company safe and profitable. This designation is not easy to come by as it requires 11 classes in a varying degree of criteria, a proficiency evaluation, as well as a written examination.  This is all complimented by having a minimum of 3 years experience in a Health & Safety role.

It takes a very special person to take on the role of a Health and Safety and to add on continuous professional development is vitally important to the Industry and to Foremost as an organization.  We strive to continuously improve our safety management systems, and none of it would be possible without people like Jessica who strive to make things safer.

Jessica Siebold receives her Manufacturing Safety Officer (MSO) designation.
